SecretTweet has been on the back burner for me since I started work at Amazon.com. Between moving to a new place, working all the time, and maintaining a social life, there simply hasn’t been much time to dedicate to working with the site. Lately, however, I’ve been setting aside a little bit of time each evening to play with my all-but-forgotten “child” and the result of that is a relaunch of the entire website.

SecretTweet had an awesome year between late ‘08 late ‘09…not much has happened in 2010, though, and that’s entirely my fault. I still monitor the @replies that come into the @SecretTweet account and you guys are why I’m still dedicating my time to the project.

The next version of SecretTweet should be ready to launch sometime in September. I’m hoping to have a sneak peak ready next week (hopefully). The best part about this the entire site/script is being rewritten. It should be cleaner, faster, more organized, and the @SecretTweet feed will be updated a whole lot more frequently. My plan is to have one update pushed per hour, every day.

The current moderation process is being ditched for something that is more efficient actually works the way it should.

So look forward to something new for the site. I only hope you’re half as excited as I am about what’s coming! :)
