UPDATED: I have decided to change the time between tweets to 10 minutes. This decision came from the comments. @b52 suggested 30 minutes and several others said there was no problem to begin with. So 10 minutes sounds like a happy medium to me. Don’t like this decision? Comment. Also, you can view the queue count and countdown till next posting here: http://secrettweet.com/the_final_countdown.php
Previously when tweets are approved, they went out in spurts (if 15 tweets were waiting on me to approve, 15 tweets went out at the same time and flooded your twitter account).

BUT NOW, if I approve 15 tweets, they will be released in increments of 25 minutes (I might shrink that – do you guys think 20 minutes is too long, too short, or just right???). It’s not my intention to flood your accounts…it’s just the way it was happening. So hopefully my new upgrade will fix this problem (and the time can be adjusted very easily so please let me know if 20 minutes is good enough)… Do note, however, that the only real way to test for errors is to actually put the code out there in the working atmosphere and see what happens. So if something acts up, let me know so I can fix it (things SHOULD be okay, though).

Thanks for sticking with SecretTweet! :)

I think 30 minutes would be better. I was about ready to drop secrettweet till I saw this post.

I have no problem what so ever with spacing out the tweet's approval rate; however, keep in mind the number of tweets that flow through secrettweet in a day. If I upped it to 30 minutes, that would only allow 48 tweets per day to hit twitter.com/secrettweet. On several occassions, there have been well over 48 tweets submitted in a single day. Pretty soon, the queue of tweets waiting to be approved in the 30 minute interval will reach such proportions that it would take weeks for a tweet to be published...and I'll close the site before that happens. I'm going to flirt with 10-30 minutes over the next few days and see how it goes.

I'll keep the time between tweets as high as I can while keeping the time it takes for someone's secret to hit twitter.com as low as I can.

I'd be fine with even every 10-15min. I didn't even mind the chunks of tweets all at once. I agree that with all the tweets you sometimes get, 20-30 might be too long.

I loved the way it was. I liked being able to send it in and not much long afterwards see it in twitter. 20 minutes is definitely going to be to long if your going to change it.

i didn't mind seeing them in chunks either. i'll still love secret tweet no matter what take it easy mozunk

Waiting 20 extra minutes or a couple of hours for tweets to show up seems too long. I'd prefer that they all be posted in real time, pending approval, as usual. We HAVEN'T been flooded, so far!

I think releasing two tweets every 10 minutes is reasonable if you've got a heavy volume.

I love secrettweet :)

I think you should lower the time between posts. Maybe 1 per minute if they're there. As this site increases in popularity, the queue will get too long...

I think tweets should be released as fast as you can approve them. Twitter is an opt-in service. Let the users deal with it.

Someone mentioned releasing two tweets every X minutes. I think that is a good idea and compromise. So if you're thinking of an update every 20 mins, 2-3 tweets each 20 mins or so is quite reasonable, I think.

I like seeing multiple tweets at a time. Cause there is more 2 read than just like one or two at a time.
